Optical coherence tomography or commonly known as OCT, is a diagnostic, control and follow-up technique that allows us to study histological sections of the retina "in vivo".

OCT is a test that is not bothersome for the patient, does not require contact with the eye, is fast and has no side effects, which is why in most cases it has superseded other diagnostic tests such as AFG (Fluorisein Angiography) that they require an intravenous dye injection (AFG is still necessary on some occasions).
