Spirometry is the respiratory function examination technique that measures respiratory flows and volumes. Respiration is a complex mechanism that requires three fundamental processes: pulmonary ventilation, diffusion of gases, and their transport to and from the cell. In addition, for proper functioning, it requires neurological regulation. Spirometry is a diagnostic test that helps us understand pulmonary ventilation.
